DISCOVER TOKYO!, an event showcasing Tokyo's charms from the perspectives of fashion, culture, food, and more, is being held on each floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building and Men's Building from February 4th to 23rd.
The event will feature shoulder bags and wallets from discord Yohji Yamamoto, an accessory brand created by designer Yohji Yamamoto, who was born and raised in Shinjuku. Additionally, his daughter, Satomi Yamamoto, designer of LIMI feu, will be showcasing her new spring/summer 2015 collection along with limited edition items. Additionally, "DIGITAL LIFESTYLE 2015 TOKYO," a program that combines the "digital" element essential to Tokyo with the store's specialty fashion, will be held mainly on the first to third floors of the main building from the 11th to the 16th. This collaboration with au, coinciding with the debut of the new "INFOBAR A03" model, allows customers to experience digital and fashion. A collaboration between ANREALAGE designer Kunihiko Morinaga and Rhizomatiks' Daito Manabe, the store will be taking orders for a technology-driven sweater (¥48,000) and T-shirt (¥14,000). The designs will feature photos taken by customers converted into a mosaic design using a proprietary app, allowing customers to create a truly unique piece. Additionally, the second floor will offer a virtual reality experience using smartphones. Wearing the special "Hakosco" device, visitors can experience a virtual reality experience that allows them to glide through the floors of the Isetan Shinjuku store and soar into the sky. Other items on display include new Grandma Charms, a hidden gem from Tokyo-based fashion brand MUVEIL, and limited-edition nail oil from uka. "Anime" is also an essential word when talking about Tokyo. "Meitan Kimono Store," which combines the charms of fashion and anime, is collaborating with the game "Meiji Tokyo Renka." From the 11th to the 16th, eight collaborative kimono outfits, including a modern look based on the costumes worn by the game's heroine, Mei, will be on display in the kimono section on the 7th floor of the main building. The event's special website also features a "TOKYO Master Exam," where visitors can uncover trivia about Tokyo they thought they knew but didn't. This event promises to help visitors rediscover the city's unexpected charms.
