A summer yukata dressing seminar, "Learn how to wear a yukata yourself this year! A course on yukata styling and hair and makeup," will be held on June 6th at Shiseido Hanatsubaki Hall in Ginza, Tokyo. The seminar will feature Noritoshi Nishioka, president of Nishioka Pencil, a company that handles advertising and kimono design. He will provide a lecture on yukata basics, such as patterns, dyes, and materials, which will be helpful in choosing the perfect yukata. Next, Yumiko Kamata, Shiseido's top hair and makeup artist, will personally teach participants how to style their hair and makeup to complement yukata. Furthermore, a "Yukata Dressing Workshop: Learn to Dress Yourself in 15 Minutes" will be held, allowing even beginners to quickly dress in a yukata. Other events include trying on and reserving various yukatas, obi sashes, and Japanese-style accessories, including original yukatas from Shiseido's "SHISEIDO THE GINZA," which are available exclusively at the venue.
Please note that you may bring your own yukata for the practical training. If you do not have your own yukata, one will be available to borrow. The maximum number of participants per session is 35. Applications will be accepted from May 19th.
