On June 20th, MARNI presented its Spring/Summer 2016 men's collection in Milan. This marked the brand's first runway show in six years.
This season's theme was "Vitality," mixing icons from different eras, including tailoring, psychedelia, and sportswear, fully demonstrating the essence of Marni's distinctive eclecticism.
Structured, straight-leg jackets were paired with voluminous loungewear-like pants and shorts, creating a new look that harmoniously blends formality and effortlessness. Expanded, sharp-cut shirt collars peek out from the tops of lapels and crew necks on knit tops, breaking away from conventional classic styles.
Subdued base colors—various shades of brown, light and deep blue, burgundy, and charcoal gray—were accented with psychedelic floral motifs and dreamy polka dot prints on French-sleeved tops and shirts. For her feet, she wears an evolved version of the sporty-looking sneakers that were popular when they first appeared in the 2015 Spring/Summer collection, paired with melange knit socks for a fresh look.
