MARNI will release its fifth collaboration with PORTER, "ACTIVE COLLECTION," in mid-May.
What's notable about "ACTIVE COLLECTION" is that, unlike the first four collaborations that were based on Porter's existing line, this is Marni's first bag collection with original designs. The patterns were created from scratch, with a focus on functionality and ease of use.
The three bags - "2WAY RUCK TOTE BAG" (W36 x H45 x D12cm / 107,000 yen), "3WAY TOTE BAG" (W37 x H40 x D15cm / 88,000 yen), and "3WAY BRIEF CASE" (W44 x H28 x D14cm / 116,000 yen) - are all completely original. All feature retractable backpack straps, making them ideal for an active lifestyle. It also features an inside pocket that makes it easy to store a laptop or other items, making it a versatile piece that can be used as a backpack or business bag.
The beige and white cotton oxford material has long been used for Marni's fixtures and file covers. The surface is silk-screened with the SUMIE (ink-brush painting) pattern that appeared in the SS15 collection, one color at a time, by Yoshida & Co.'s artisans.
The color combination is a navy combination that was also used in the SS15 men's collection, as well as a yellow combination specially proposed for this collection.
Also, two sizes of paper-bag-shaped clutch bags (L size: W28 x H23 x D9cm / 37,000 yen, S size: W21 x H17 x D7cm / 31,000 yen) are available as original designs for this collaboration collection.
The fifth lineup also includes an iPad clutch (W16 x H22 x D3cm / 31,000 yen) and three types of wallets (long zip wallet / W20 x H11 x D3cm / 33,000 yen, wide zip wallet / W20 x H11 x D1.5cm / 19,000 yen, zip wallet / W13 x H11 x D1.5cm / 16,000 yen).
