The world's first "Gap cafe" has arrived! Gap Shinjuku Flags store will finally have its grand opening on June 1st

Event Date:2020.06.01
May 31, 2020
Gap Japan will reopen its Gap Shinjuku Flags store on June 1, 2020, after the store's opening was postponed due to the impact of COVID-19. The newly renovated Gap Shinjuku Flags store marks a first for the Gap brand worldwide. The store was designed and planned in partnership with Suppose Design Office Co., Ltd., an architectural firm led by Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida. Returning to Gap's roots, which began in California in 1969 selling denim and records, the store blends a unique Japanese aesthetic with the denim, music, and culture that define the brand. The store's display windows feature artwork by Letterboy, a calligraphy, hand lettering, and sign painting artist active around the world. Visitors can also experience playful artwork unique to the Gap Shinjuku Flags store.

In addition, the store will feature the world's only cafe area, "Gap cafe," where you can drink "Gap Original Blend Coffee." Guests can enjoy cafe lattes with latte art featuring original Gap illustrations and messages, and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, which was founded in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA in 1937, will also be available. Limited-time products to commemorate the reopening will also be available, including the adorable "Brannan Donut," featuring Gap's mascot, Brannan Bear. In consideration of the environment, we use FSC-certified paper cups and sleeves, and biodegradable straws made from natural ingredients and brewed coffee.

▲Gap cafe also offers original blend coffee and light meals
In addition, to commemorate the reopening of the Gap Shinjuku Flags store, customers who spend over 10,000 yen (tax included) will receive a free organic cotton eco bag printed with an original illustration by the popular international artist Yusuke Hanai, which is only available here. Additionally, on a first-come, first-served basis, customers who spend ¥15,000 or more (tax included) will receive a free copy of the picture book "BEACH GLASS," written by George Cockle and illustrated by Yusuke Hanai. (This offer will end while supplies last.)
