A new green dial model has been added to the Sky Chief Date from Favre-Leuba, a historic Swiss watch brand founded in 1737. The Sky Chief Date is a current model released in 2016, and is characterized by its symmetrical, well-balanced design with a date display at 6 o'clock and a beautifully lustrous dial. The details of the large 43mm case showcase the brand's signature powerful design, including a 14-sided bezel and large, highly legible indices. The newly released green dial Sky Chief Date maintains the powerful presence of the Sky Chief Date while adding elegance with its noble green dial and 18K rose gold bezel.
The Sky Chief Date (green dial) is scheduled for release in August. The Sky Chief Date (white dial) is also scheduled for release at the same time.
■The History of the Sky Chief Date
Current Sky Chief DateFounded in Le Locle, Switzerland in 1737, Favre-Leuba is known for its practical instruments, having been the first in the world to feature an altimeter and depth gauge in a wristwatch, but it also has a long history of dress watches. The Sea Chief, the origin of the Chief Date, was released in 1956. The Sea Chief was a dress watch, yet boasted a high level of practicality. The current Sky Chief Date, released in 2016, continues this philosophy of "combining formal design with practicality." For example, it is water resistant to 10 bar (100m). Furthermore, the movement it houses is based on the Swiss-made ETA2824. The ETA2824 is a proven automatic movement that has been used in the Swiss watch industry for decades, and there are many craftsmen in Japan who can repair it, including our own repair workshop in Japan, so you can use it with confidence for many years to come.
