Unique materials. Antique fabrics, each with its own story and the accumulation of memories and things from various places, and Y's archive textiles, are fragments of craftsmanship.

This second collection was created by interweaving Y's archive textiles with antique fabrics collected by "KAYO NAKAMURA by Y's" as the key material. While sculptures are usually given life by adding eyes last, Ann has incorporated eyeless flowers as a motif for the first time in Fleur, a new challenge for the artist and a special creation prepared specifically for Y's that transcends the boundaries of creativity. Flowers (plants), Ann's first motif, serve as the key to shaping the entire collection.

FleurFleur
"KAYO NAKAMURA by Y's" is Y's accessory line, presenting a collection of shoes, bags, and more. Launched in 2013, "KAYO NAKAMURA by Y's" has pursued themes such as color combinations, patchwork, and decoration as part of its identity. The warmth born from these materials, as well as the beauty, strength, and intrigue of these material combinations, are expressed through the designs of shoes, bags, and other items. This is the core essence of craftsmanship that underlies the sporty and contemporary "KAYO NAKAMURA by Y's."

Anne-Valérie Dupond is an internationally active textile sculptor based in Besançon, France. She breathes new life into sculptures by combining old fabrics found in her own or her family's wardrobe, old bedspreads from her grandparents' attic, old curtains, fabrics passed down from friends, used clothing, old cloth, and vintage lace.

Since their first collaboration in Spring/Summer 2018, the two have continued to share their creative passion, and their second collection was born from this carefully cultivated communication. Words are exchanged on the surface of fabric, and the feelings put into each piece are captured in the subtle details of the three-dimensional form, resulting in one-of-a-kind sculptures that are powerful, gentle, and imbued with presence.

Each and every one of the various plants, her signature hunting trophies, the animals each named after them, and dozens of brooches are handmade by Anne-Valérie Dupont and are all unique pieces. Leather shoes individually adorned with Anne's textile sculptures, such as quilted tassels, and patchwork "KAYO NAKAMURA by Y's" bags will also be added to the capsule collection as multiple textile sculptures.

Fleur MuguetFleur Muguet
A floral textile sculpture that is the symbol of the collection. In France, La fête du muguet is a day when people give lily of the valley to loved ones. This gift from Anne inspired the theme of "flower (plant) creation," which has expanded into this core piece of the KAYO NAKAMURA by Y’s Anne-Valérie Dupond capsule collection. "Flowers, a part of our everyday lives, are beautiful, bring joy, and enrich our souls." This shared sentiment, reaffirmed as a precious thing, sparked a desire to create. When I asked Anne to express flowers, the entire collection began to expand. Using not only real flowers but also art books, I repeatedly added and subtracted materials, and through trial and error, I was able to draw on Anne's creative expression. This new Anne-Valérie Dupond design was born through KAYO NAKAMURA by Y’s. The loop on the back allows for wall hanging. The stems can also be threaded with wire, allowing for free-form shaping. Display them in a vase or place them on a shelf, and hopefully add a touch of warmth to any space. The dangling threads seen in Ann's recent works seem to express the dynamism of plants.
