BEAMS has supervised the creation of original goods for the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City), which is undergoing a major renovation and reopening this spring. 
 
 

The original goods will be sold at ART LAB KYOTO, the museum shop attached to the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, which opens on May 26th (※). The creation was supervised by the BEAMS Creative Laboratory, which has been involved in numerous external client work since its launch in 2010. The collection features delicate designs in white and dark gray, echoing the museum's new logo, created during the museum's renovation and the architect Jun Aoki's new directorship. These items are perfect not only as gifts or souvenirs, but also as everyday items for everyday use. Located within Okazaki Park in Kyoto's Sakyo Ward, home to Heian Shrine and the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art is known as one of the Kansai region's leading public art museums. Surrounded by traditional beauty, Okazaki has also fostered new individuality, and the museum's merchandise combines tradition with innovation, reflecting the flexible sensibilities of the area. *Due to COVID-19 prevention measures, the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art's opening date, originally scheduled for March, has been postponed to Tuesday, May 26th. *The Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art will be open by advance reservation and limited capacity. For the time being, as people are being asked to refrain from traveling between prefectures, visitor numbers will be limited to those who live in Kyoto Prefecture. As a measure to prevent infection, entry will be restricted to those who make a reservation in advance and visitors' temperatures will be checked. Those who do not make a reservation in advance will not be able to enter free areas such as the cafe and museum shop.
