Promoting sake as a culture! "I LOVE SAKE Sake Maniac Expo" held

Jan 22, 2017

"I LOVE SAKE Sake Maniac Expo in Tokyo," an exhibition showcasing sake as a culture, will be held at the Parco Museum in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, from February 10 to March 5.
Amid the growing sake boom both in Japan and overseas, the expo was launched in Umeda, Osaka, with the aim of "introducing the appeal of sake to a younger generation" and "unleashing the potential of sake." By treating sake as a "material to play with," the expo aims to discover new appeal and value by creating and promoting derivative works of sake from a variety of perspectives.
This Tokyo debut will feature "Sake Pedia," which delves into sake from a subcultural perspective—"knowing," "seeing," and "creating." The exhibition will also feature the exclusive "One Cup Designed by Creators," a collaboration with Ozeki Co., Ltd., renowned for its One Cup. In collaboration with the sake characterization project "Sake Monogatari," a group of renowned artists will present "illustrations featuring sake as characters." The exhibit will also showcase sake-themed derivative works. In addition, there will be a large number of exhibits, including local sake brands from around the country curated from an enthusiast's perspective, as well as unique local cup sake.

If you pay admission, you will be given a small tasting cup of sake or amazake, allowing you to walk around the venue feeling tipsy. There will also be a shop selling some of the local sake brands related to the exhibition, as well as selling miscellaneous alcohol-related goods.
