"AOYAMA SAKE FLEA," a sake tasting event featuring up-and-coming sake breweries from across Japan, will be held on November 12th and 13th at the United Nations University Plaza in Aoyama, Tokyo. This fifth annual event will feature a record 19 participating breweries.
The event aims to promote delicious sake suited to modern lifestyles, working with brewers from around the country. Brewers from across the country will gather to share their sake concepts and the secret stories behind their creations, from pairings of sake with food to rare sakes rarely found in the Kanto region.
In addition to sake, there will also be food stalls offering a variety of dishes, from Japanese to French cuisine, paired with sake. This event will also spotlight rice, the key ingredient in sake brewing, with a limited-time rice tasting booth, "RICE BAR by VERMICULAR RICEPOT." You'll be able to taste rice that you don't usually get the chance to experience, in a way you've never experienced before.
Participating breweries include Mutsu Hassen (Aomori), Yonezuru (Yamagata), Hideho (Yamagata), Haginotsuru (Miyagi), Yamanoi (Fukushima), Kakurei (Niigata), Yoshinotomo (Toyama), Tedorigawa (Ishikawa), Masumi (Nagano), Senkin (Tochigi), Wakakoma (Tochigi), Yui (Ibaraki), Kidoizumi (Chiba), Hakuin Masamune (Shizuoka), Mimurosugi (Nara), Kido (Wakayama), Tatsuriki (Hyogo), Banshu Ikkon (Hyogo), and Hojun (Oita). Food options include And the Frit, Azabujuban Ukyo, Ginza Narashiba, Nikomi-ya Akaneko, Urawa Kurakawa, Yotsuya Rokkan, and Iidabashi Yu.
On the day, tickets for a sake tasting comparison of 19 breweries will be on sale (5 glasses for 1,000 yen, 10 glasses for 2,000 yen). Advance tickets with original sake cups will also be on sale (20 glasses for 4,000 yen, 40 glasses for 7,500 yen).
