A little "Tottori" is coming to Nakameguro! "co-tori 2016" will be held, where you can taste brand beef, sake, and other Tottori products

Feb 21, 2016

"co-tori 2016," an event where you can enjoy Tottori Prefecture's handicrafts and seasonal ingredients, will be held from February 27th to March 6th in Nakameguro, Tokyo.

With the Sea of Japan to the north and the Chugoku Mountains to the south, Tottori Prefecture is blessed with abundant nature and delicious food. It is also the place where the ideas of folk art activist Yoshida Shoya were put into practice, and even today the prefecture continues to carry on the spirit and techniques of "beauty in utility" while creating products suited to modern times.

This year marks the fourth time the event has been held, and the "TOTTORI craft exhibition" will be held at the main venue, SML, a select shop for tableware and tools. It will showcase the diverse handicrafts of Tottori, including pottery, washi paper, stencil dyeing, and steel. From 6pm to 11pm on March 2nd and 3rd, there will also be a two-day limited drinking and eating event called "co-tori BAL" (participation fee 2,500 yen) where you can enjoy Tottori sake and ingredients. Participants will receive a complimentary sake cup made by a Tottori pottery manufacturer, and if you order a limited menu using Tottori ingredients at the six participating stores, you will receive a free glass of local Tottori sake. As a special project this year, a special menu using the highest quality brand beef, "Tottori Wagyu Olein 55", will also be offered. There will also be a "Co-tori BAL Stamp Rally" where you can win luxurious prizes from Tottori if you visit three or more participating stores.
