"Higashiya Ginza's Seasonal Mochi" event, created by the artisans of Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA, will be held at the store from noon to 3:00 pm on February 4th.
Higashiya offers freshly made morning sweets by artisans for each season, based on the 24 solar terms of the calendar, which have been nurtured by the rich sensibilities of the Japanese people, such as "sakura mochi" for cherry blossom season and "kashiwa mochi" for Boys' Day. This year's solar term marks the beginning of the new year, and to commemorate this, they will be offering their original morning sweet, "Risshun Daifuku," made with black beans and sake lees. The black bean paste, flavored with rich brown sugar, is wrapped in rice cakes kneaded with sake lees. Each piece is 250 yen, and a box of four is 950 yen (tax included).
