MARCELO BURLON COUNTY OF MILAN's 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection was held in Milan on January 15th. At the request of designer Marcelo himself, model Kozue Akimoto made her Milan Collection debut. The show took place at The Mall in central Milan, the same location where Marcelo debuted his Milan Men's collection two years ago. While the venue was lit up red as at his debut, the collection showcased a completely new brand image. Traditional graphics and athletic sportswear elements were toned down, creating a collection that felt more like a statement toward a fashion brand. The collection featured oversized, oversized silhouettes throughout, with MA-1 jackets featuring a belted waistband and various pieces featuring chest straps and shoulder straps, creating a variety of styling options, complemented by cargo pants with large pockets and pleated bottoms.
The colors are coordinated in one tone of burgundy, military khaki, gray, and black, and the materials are mostly plain, ranging from nylon to cotton, leather, and washed gabardine.
The animal graphics that have been his signature items as icons from his roots in Patagonia, Argentina, are now concentrated in large snake prints on jackets and coats. The gaucho style that transcends time and space expresses this collection under the theme of "New Renaissance."
