"Dior is an haute couture house, and it's all about the clothes. At its core are the finest silhouettes, shapes, techniques, and materials. I've spent five years at the house, and this year marks my fifth anniversary, but I'll never forget this collection. Taking inspiration from womenswear of the past and applying it to modern menswear is a culture in itself. This is my first attempt, and I wanted to pay homage to the creative minds of the past. "Together with our directors, we drew inspiration from different eras and collaged our essence together, linking it all through texture and technique, with Dior pop icons such as the Cannage," said Kim Jones. From Yves Saint Laurent's silhouettes to Gianfranco Ferré's embroideries, Monsieur Dior's ovals and Marc Bohan's textures, a collage of inspirations and pop icons takes shape in the mechanical gardens of "HOMMES FLEURS," embracing tradition and subversion, moving from feminine to masculine, salon to street, New Look to New Wave.

For this fifth anniversary collection, Kim Jones blends his own style with the creations of previous Creative Directors. Yves Saint Laurent silhouettes are revisited in this collection, but transformed into summer silhouettes by Kim Jones. The history of menswear meets a fusion of masculine and feminine, and the traditions and materials of British tailoring meet with haute couture tailoring ateliers. The roots of womenswear materials are revealed as they enter the world of menswear.

Everything is imbued with a light, playful modernity, a sense of functionality and ease. Within each garment, formal and casual blend, luxury and functionality unite in an exuberant sense of pop. Simple, quintessential menswear pieces—Harrington jackets, polo shirts, crew necks, cardigans—are transformed from ordinary to extraordinary through Dior's timeless and style-defying craftsmanship, including tweed, embroidery, and cannage.

Reintroducing Yves Saint Laurent's tailoring to the world of menswear, this collection focuses on the volumes, slits, pleats and necklines featured in his 1959 collection. These details are incorporated into relaxed, masculine suiting, summer ensembles and sweeping coats. Meanwhile, platform loafers with an oval motif, inspired by the 1995 Lady Dior bag, and sandals reminiscent of New Wave crepe are featured. Bags are available in a variety of shapes, colors, and textures, from the flamboyant and understated—such as the fluorescent Saddle and cognac Cannage satchel—to the functional tweed backpack and leather rolled sandwich bag. Hat designer Stephen Jones reinterprets the New Wave beanie, this time replacing the cockade with the exquisite velvet flower ornament, a design originating from China's Tang dynasty (618–907). Incorporating the collection's color palette, the Velvet has breathed new life into its tradition, more than ever celebrating contemporary elegance through collaboration between skilled artisans and the Dior ateliers.
