Jimmy Choo's new mini shoulder bag is African bohemian [Today's item]

Feb 10, 2015

JIMMY CHOO has released a new bag for Spring/Summer 2015, the "ZADIE" (W17 x H17 x D6cm / 170,000 yen), with an African bohemian vibe. Made from brown calf leather, the shoulder-style ZADIE features delicate fringe made from multiple colors and materials, carefully applied to the back. The color scheme evokes the African lands, with different tones of brown like earth, a vibrant red like a sunset, and mirror that shines like sunlight, creating an energetic feel. Python leather and a gold bar handle are placed in the center, giving this small bag a sense of weight and presence. The same python is also used on the edges, creating a luxurious finish. The bag is scheduled for release in late February.

Creative director Sandra Choi's muse, Josephine Baker, was the inspiration behind the 15SS collection. Josephine Baker, a native of St. Louis, USA, was a jazz singer and actress active from the 1920s to the 1970s and was nicknamed the "Black Pearl." She was known for her free-spirited style and ethnic spirit, and for not being afraid to break the rules. Sandra Choi says the collection reflects her thoughts on "what she would want to wear if she were living today."
