Magnificent Rome
To celebrate and elevate the distinctive Bvlgari design using ancient Greek and Roman coins, first introduced by Nicola Bulgari in the 1960s, Bvlgari has added a new piece to this Magnificent Rome series, using the ancient cameo carving technique. The history of beautiful cameos dates back to Greece in the 5th century BC. Paying homage to a tradition highly popular in ancient Rome, particularly among the Augustan family, and honoring Bvlgari's Roman roots, the watch pays tribute to Augustus Octavian, the first Roman emperor and the first Egyptian queen, Cleopatra, both considered the greatest monarchs of all time. To demonstrate its respect for the history and tradition of cameo carving, the brand collaborated with the artisans of Torre del Greco, renowned worldwide for their time-honored techniques.

The "Cameo Imperial Necklace Secret Watch" features a cameo depicting Cleopatra's elegant profile superimposed on a precious pendant. The pink gold chain is designed to match the pendant and is studded with diamonds and brilliant-cut rubies. The sophisticated pink gold watch case is adorned with sapphires along with cameos, surrounded by snow-set diamonds. Inside is the openworked "Lumiere" BVL208 tourbillon mechanical manual-winding movement, all of whose components are decorated and finished by hand, and it has a 64-hour power reserve. The intricate and complex inner workings of the watch are revealed through the delicately crafted case, making it a true work of watchmaking art.

The platinum case cover is set with a cameo of a Roman emperor surrounded by diamonds and lapis lazuli. The 44mm platinum case is presented on a black alligator strap. Inside the case is the ultra-thin BVLGARI 268SK mechanical movement, hand-wound and equipped with a flying tourbillon.
