On March 4th, the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku store will reopen after a remodel. The remodeling project was led by Yasumichi Morita of the design firm GLAMOROUS co., ltd. The design was inspired by the shift in residents' lifestyles from "living" to "enjoying," and the store itself was transformed into a highly cultured environment, with the living room serving as a "place for cultural creation." To celebrate the grand opening, Isetan will be introducing a new version of the "Zenith M Chandelier 12 Lights" (5.5 million yen), a chandelier designed by Morita to commemorate Baccarat's 250th anniversary. The chandelier, with 410 lights—the largest in Baccarat's history—created for the 250th anniversary and garnering attention when it was exhibited at Yebisu Garden Place. The chandelier being unveiled at Isetan this time is an adaptation of the original design. Based on the concept of "Session of sparkle," the piece combines Baccarat's traditional Zenith design with a mirror panel, creating the illusion of multiple reflections of light.
By adding Morita's modern interpretation to the classical and elegant craftsmanship of Baccarat, this piece is elevated to a lighting fixture that emits an exceptional brilliance, with the power to overwhelm the viewer.
