Letterpress printing begins at Shinjuku Isetan, custom printing available in the stationery section

Feb 15, 2015

Isetan Shinjuku is planning a grand remodel of its 5th floor living area this March. A workshop specializing in letterpress printing and foil stamping will open in the stationery section of the building. The workshop will offer custom-made business cards, postcards, letter paper, and envelopes, as well as personalized leather goods and stationery. The printing will use fonts from House Industries, a design company known for its diverse text-based creations, including collaborations with Herman Miller. This will be the first printing service in the world to use the original fonts created from the company's freehand drawings, and customers will be able to observe the process through a window in the workshop.

Also, from March 11th to 24th, there will be a special event by A TWO PIPE PROBLEM, a British company that produces prints using vintage woodblocks and letterpress printing machines. In addition, workshops will be held by founder Stephen Kenny on March 11th, 14th, and 15th.
