Isetan Shinjuku remodeled and reopened its interior design department on the 5th floor living room floor of the main building on December 27th. The store sells designers from interior design maestro Antonio Citterio and Knoll Textiles, making its department store debut, and interior design advisors are also on hand.

Ahead of the store's grand opening in spring 2015, the interior design department has been remodeled with a "relaxation" theme, promoting high-quality, attractive spaces and lifestyles that foster a sense of spiritual richness through items.

A highlight of the furniture zone is the permanent presence of Italian prestige furniture brand FLEXFORM, a first for a Japanese department store. The brand was designed and overseen by Italian design maestro Antonio Citterio. The sales floor will feature the brand's sofa (priced at 3,832,000 yen) and other items that are made with a commitment to Italy in terms of materials, design, and manufacturing processes.

The curtain and carpet zone will feature items that combine quality with trendy design to add color to any space. Items include Nortextile, a brand from an American luxury furniture manufacturer, making its first permanent appearance in a department store, and German brand JAB, which is easy to coordinate with modern interiors and making its first appearance at Isetan.

The interior and fabric zone will permanently offer textiles from Siulas, a long-established Lithuanian linen manufacturer, in 12 colors. Based on the theme of "origin x manufacturing method," the zone will also introduce a selection of Japanese-style items, including Kyushu Kokura-ori's "Shima Shima," making its first permanent appearance in a department store.

The same floor will also have an IDS (Interior Design Service) counter staffed by interior coordinators and housing producers, with professional staff available to handle a wide range of housing-related inquiries, from coordinating plans for interior items such as furniture and curtains to handling renovation work.
