A new interpretation of Bottega Veneta SS15 through sound and dance. Yusuke Tanaka, Rhizomatiks Manabe, and Kurotaki create a video work

Feb 27, 2015

Bottega Veneta has released the video work "EMOTION OF SOUND" on its official website. The rubbing of a dress or the bouncing of necklace material as a person moves—sounds that emerge and fade away without usually being noticed. "EMOTION OF SOUND" combines these sounds with the natural sounds of the atelier, captivating viewers in various ways with sensory elements. The result is a unique work that immerses viewers in the brand's worldview. To express the SS15 collection, inspired by dance and free movement, in a video work, the dizzying movements of dancing men and women were used to add a new interpretation. The work captures an exhilarating moment, seamlessly conveying the brand's core philosophy. The work was directed by Yusuke Tanaka, a video artist with a long history of commercials. Rhizomatiks' Setsuya Kurotaki participated in the creation as sound producer, resulting in a cutting-edge work reminiscent of techno art. Furthermore, Rhizomatiks' Daito Manabe will be showcasing an installation that further develops the concept at the Bottega Veneta Ginza store from March 7th to 16th.

Tomas Maier, who created the SS15 collection, said, "Sound, like the other senses, can stimulate curiosity and is deeply personal. Sound can convey a lot of information about the source and can also stimulate the individual's unique imagination. I wanted to explore these possibilities by creating something extremely unique."
