Designer Dries Van Noten's exhibition "DRIES VAN NOTEN, INSPIRATIONS" will be held at MoMu - Antwerp Fashion Museum from February 13th to July 19th.
This exhibition is an expanded version of the one first shown in Paris in 2014, with evolved content and presentation. It marks a traveling exhibition in the Belgian designer's hometown, where he graduated from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Bringing together artworks from various fields, including history, photography, ethnic elements, film, music, and geography, the exhibition highlights commonalities and contradictions with Dries's work. This allows visitors to understand the main themes and characteristics of his collections since the early 1980s, as well as his unique creative process, which is informed by a wide range of inspirational sources. The exhibition will feature his own works, along with anonymous 19th century pieces, alongside works by iconic couturiers such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior, raising individual inner themes such as youth, original form, ambiguity and passion.
