The book "DRIES VAN NOTEN" has been published in conjunction with the exhibition "DRIES VAN NOTEN, INSPIRATIONS." The English version will be available in Japan from May 3rd.
The exhibition is being held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, adjacent to the Louvre, from March 1st to August 31st. Dries Van Noten's men's and women's collections are displayed alongside visuals and artworks, such as Yves Klein's "Blue Venus," footage from the film "A Clockwork Orange," and photographs of David Bowie, as well as pieces from the museum's collection, creating an exhibition that expresses the artist's sources of inspiration.
The exhibition catalog, "DRIES VAN NOTEN," also compiles these sources of inspiration. The book features a personal collection made up of a wide range of elements, including fashion, painting, photography, film, and music, and allows visitors to discover unexpected relationships, such as the similarities and contrasts between various artworks and Dries Van Noten's work. Also on display for the first time are photographs of his home and garden, taken by Koen de Waal. The book also visually summarizes his collections from 1986 onwards. Available at the Dries Van Noten Aoyama store from May 3rd. Price: 9,200 yen.
