About Breitling
Since 1884, Breitling has established an international reputation for high-precision timepieces, its pioneering role in the development of the wristwatch chronograph, and its uncompromising commitment to design excellence. With a long-standing connection to aviation, Breitling has shared in the finest moments as mankind navigated the skies. Renowned for its spirit of innovation, Breitling has also earned a special place in the fields of science, sport, and technology. Breitling manufactures its movements in-house. And each watch (like all Breitling watch movements) is guaranteed to be a "Swiss Made, COSC-certified chronometer" by its status.

About the Navitimer
From pilot's watch to icon.
In 1952, Willy Breitling, third-generation Breitling founder, developed a wristwatch chronograph with a circular slide rule that allowed pilots to perform the various navigation calculations they needed. Two years later, this design was adopted as the official timepiece of the International Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the world's largest pilots' club. The association's wings logo appeared at 12 o'clock, and the "Navigation Timer," or "Navitimer," was born.

The Navitimer grew along with the development of civil aviation. Not only was it beloved by airline captains and aviation enthusiasts, but in 1962 it even made it into space, when astronaut Scott Carpenter wore it as a 24-hour timepiece that kept time day and night. And it wasn't just pilots who were drawn to the watch's irresistible beauty. Celebrities of the time, including Miles Davis, Serge Gainsbourg, Jim Clark, and Graham Hill, also wore the Navitimer, proving that function and style could be combined.

An Evolution of Breitling's Modern Retro Style
Introduced in 2022, the new Navitimer retains its distinctive design codes. Its rotating slide rule, baton indexes, three chronograph counters, and easy-to-operate knurled bezel make it instantly recognizable from afar. Yet, upon closer inspection, its modern refinements become apparent. The flattened slide rule and domed crystal create a more compact appearance. Alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes create a luminous yet understated texture. The rotor's slimmer silhouette allows the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 to be more clearly visible through the caseback. This movement comes with a 5-year warranty, a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and the ability to change the date at any time. The date can be read through a small window at 6 o'clock.
