Shiseido Parlour Ginza Flagship Store reopened on November 1st after a renovation based on the concept of "innovation and continuity."
1st Floor Ginza Flagship Store Shop
This renovation focused on what needs to be preserved and what needs to evolve, and expressed the role of each floor with "innovation" and "continuity." The unchanging spirit of hospitality passed down through generations is at the base of everything, in pursuit of an even deeper sense of comfort.
The renovations will cover the 1st floor shop, 3rd floor cafe, 4th and 5th floor restaurant, 8th floor salon, and 9th floor hall. The interior design is based on the idea of "banbutsushisei," which means "praising the vitality of nature," and is embodied in the company name. The entire building, stretching from earth to sky, is imagined as a "gradation of light," expressing the transition from "light pouring onto the earth" (1st to 3rd floors) to "light from the city and mansions" (4th to 8th floors), "soft light from the sky and clouds" (9th and 10th floors), and "the sparkle of the sky and night sky" (11th floor).
Ginza Main Store Exclusives
The Ginza Main Store on the 1st floor is the flagship shop for Western confectionery, selling everything from the classic Western confectionery series to Ginza Main Store exclusives and fresh cakes. The sales style has been evolved so that customers can enjoy picking out the products while making their selection. In addition, the Ginza Main Store exclusives have been given new packaging with a powerful yet chic design by graphic designer Nakajo Masayoshi, based on the concept of "Ginza Hachome Monogatari." They are now available with a striking houndstooth pattern.
New products such as the "Classic Fruit Cake" (4,320 yen including tax) and the "Classic Matcha & Chestnut Cake" (7,560 yen including tax) are also available. Fresh cakes such as the more glamorous "Shortcake" (6,480 yen including tax), which is only available at the Ginza flagship store, and "Hanatsubaki Chocolat" (270 yen including tax) are recommended as gifts for anniversaries.
3rd Floor Ginza Flagship Store Salon de Café
The 3rd floor Ginza flagship store Salon de Café has been reborn as a more comfortable and gorgeous space, like a blooming flower, with the introduction of sofa seating and bench seating. The traditional red walls, soft pink interior décor, and beautiful ceiling painting will make you excited for dessert.
November-only "Special Ice Cream Japanese Chestnut Parfait" (2,200 yen including tax)
To celebrate the opening, the November-only "Special Ice Cream Japanese Chestnut Parfait" (2,200 yen including tax) is an evolved version of a traditional menu item that has been on the menu since the cafe's founding. The opening special plate "Salon de Cafe Special Plate" (2,500 yen including tax, with a drink) featuring an assortment of exciting desserts such as sundaes and chocolate fondue will also be available only in November.
4th and 5th Floors Ginza Main Store Restaurant
The 4th and 5th floor Ginza Main Store Restaurant has newly installed bench seats in its classic interior, creating a space where everyone from small children to adults can relax and enjoy themselves. The private rooms on the 5th floor are decorated with stained glass that has been passed down since 1928. To commemorate the opening, there will be a November-only "Chef's Recommended Course" (12,000 yen including tax) as well as a November-only "Ginza Modern Special Lunch" (5,000 yen including tax) which features Shiseido Parlour's traditional menu and a main dish made with seasonal ingredients.
In addition, the 8th floor will feature two salons, "WORD SALON I/II," which can be used as private restaurant rooms or for parties, seminars, and other occasions. The 9th floor will be transformed into "WORD HALL," a multi-purpose hall suitable for a variety of events. Equipped with audio, video, and lighting, the elegant white space will serve as a "Ginza gathering spot" for stand-up parties, presentations, reunions, and more.
4th Floor Restaurant: Yukako Izawa, "The Sleep of the World, the Sound of Water" (Reference: Previous Work)
In conjunction with the renovation, the interior space will also feature artwork expressing the "coexistence of humans and nature." The selected artworks are curated by artists with ties to the Shiseido Gallery's activities and from Shiseido's art collection.
