Isetan Shinjuku's main building, the Living Room on the 5th floor, will begin selling wallpaper from WALPA, a specialty import wallpaper shop. This marks the first time WALPA wallpaper has appeared in a department store. Following the remodeled opening of the floor on March 4th, the store will be introducing the brand's wallpaper in the "Living & Personal" zone, which will feature furniture and stationery to enhance comfortable living spaces in the east area of the main building. A store representative explained the reason for focusing on this wallpaper: "We want more people to experience the joy of living in a space that suits their taste. With a wide variety of designs, WALPA's wallpaper allows you to experience the joy of self-renovation, and you can enjoy changing the atmosphere of your room with the seasons." The wallpaper patterns range from natural wood to stylish designs created in collaboration with Parisian lifestyle shop Merci, and there are approximately 100 varieties on display in the store. They are sold by the roll, with attractively priced products such as "Brooklyn Tins by merci" (1 roll 48.7cm x 10m / 28,000 yen).
With DIY being popular these days, there are many online resources introducing ways to redecorate your home yourself. You can even change up small spaces like around your desk or in the bathroom, so it might be a good idea to try a mini-renewal at the start of the new fiscal year.
