In [This Week's Bread], the FASHION HEADLINE editorial department focuses on and introduces bakeries that are currently attracting attention. This time, as a special feature, we've picked out some limited-edition breads we found at Isetan Shinjuku that are perfect for Halloween! 

ANDERSEN

From ANDERSEN, which offers a variety of adorable Halloween-themed breads, I chose the "Black Cat Chocolate Cream Bread." This bun features two layers of dough: a jet-black crust made with black cocoa and a slightly sweet crust, encasing a bittersweet chocolate custard cream. The fondant (surimi) features a charming face that's almost too sweet to eat, and is lightly flavored with liquor, creating a soft, elegant aroma that wafts through your mouth.

HEDIARD

HEDIARD's "HEDIARD's Mummy Bread" features a playful design featuring a large sausage, the same type used in the store's hot dogs, wrapped around a white bread dough resembling a bandage. Not only does the visuals get you in the Halloween spirit, but it's also a testament to the long-established grocery store in Paris. The taste is also guaranteed! The moist and soft bread dough and juicy sausage are a perfect match. Lightly warming it brings out the aroma of the sausage, making it even more delicious.

Maison Kayser

If you're looking for a meal bread, we recommend Maison Kayser's "Magic Wand"! It's baked with chunks of nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, and cassonade, kneaded into the baguette dough, allowing you to enjoy the fragrant aroma and crunchy texture. Its impressive size, measuring approximately 30cm in diameter, makes a great impression. You can eat them as they are, or pair them with other Halloween treats to brighten up your table!
