Ahonen & Ramberg, cutting-edge artists who have worked with Muveil, Carven, Diesel, and others

Dec 2, 2014

An exhibition of the female design duo AHONEN & LAMBERG has been held at MUVEIL's flagship store, GALLERY MUVEIL, since November 28th, and will run until December 4th.

Ahonen & Lamberg is a Paris-based design studio founded in 2006 by Finnish designers Anna Ahonen and Katariina Lamberg. They primarily provide creative consulting, visual identity, and graphic design, and have worked extensively with a variety of fashion brands, including CARVEN, LACOSTE, and Charles Anastase, as well as well-known magazines and up-and-coming artists. This Christmas-limited edition model of the MUVEIL "ARBRE" bag series, created by Ahonen & Ramberg, features a monogram design based on the brand's "M" and "V" motifs. We spoke to the pair, who visited Japan for the exhibition. "The most important thing in design is communication. The philosophy that 'mutual respect can only lead to new, good things' is also a criterion for choosing clients to work with," Ahonen said. Ramberg added, "The same can be said for ourselves. Even when we're together every day, we always discover something new, and it's very important that we continue to have a relationship that inspires each other." "The source of design inspiration lies in our daily lives, and everything we see is a design source," Ahonen continued. "As for the future, we're actively considering working with people in the music industry, including the album cover of French singer-songwriter Keren Ann, whose work is also on display here. I'm also currently very interested in magazines, especially culture magazines." The exhibition brings together approximately 50 clean, sophisticated pieces, showcasing their signature organic motifs in abstract digital form. The first thing you'll encounter at the entrance is a printed artwork from Diesel's Spring/Summer 2013 collection. This is followed by framed collages of lookbooks from JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN and Parisian select shop MARIA LUIZA, as well as pages from their art direction for fashion and culture magazine Dossier. The 12 logo pieces lined up represent the names of clients they've worked with. Their limited-edition Christmas collection is available at GALLERY MUVEIL. The tote bag and clutch bag, available in two sizes (S and M), are available in navy and white.
