ID&E began stocking Akihiro Nikaido's works at the ID&E CRAFTS CERAMIC EXHIBITION "Nikaido Akihiro Ceramics Exhibition: Spring is here." held at the IDÉE Shop Tokyo Midtown store in 2017, and this will be the fifth exhibition and sale of his works. The delicate and modern, thin rusted vessels created by Nikaido Akihiro have traces of paint applied with a brush that give them an exquisite look, and each piece has a dignified presence.

This exhibition will feature flower arranger Hirama Mario, who will arrange seasonal flowers in vases created by Nikaido Akihiro, adding a touch of elegance to the venue.

Nikaido Akihiro

Born in Sapporo in 1977. Graduated from the Ceramics Department of Bunka Gakuin Art College in 1999, and became independent in 2001 (in Tochigi Prefecture).
Since 2010, he has been planning and holding "ToISM 2010." Following the 2011 earthquake, he canceled "ToISM 2011" and instead launched the "ToISM Utsuwa no Chikara Project," which delivers ceramic vessels directly to temporary housing. His exhibitions include "Next Generation Energy" (a joint exhibition between Mashiko Ceramic Art Museum Messe and the Ibaraki Prefectural Ceramic Art Museum in 2013), the contemporary ceramics exhibition "Phenomenon" (Ibaraki Prefectural Ceramic Art Museum in 2014), a solo exhibition "Wabi to Now" (New York, Globus Tea Room in 2015), "Wabi to Now - Ring-," which expresses Japanese culture through the tea ceremony (various locations in New York in 2016), and a solo exhibition at "January and July" (Paris in 2018). In 2019, he held "Wabi to Now - Scattered-" at various locations in New York. He holds about 10 solo exhibitions a year, many of which are held overseas in cities such as New York, Paris, London, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai. ▼Akihiro Nikaido Official Website https://www.nikatougei.jp/ ▼Touism Website http://www.touism.net/
