Fujio Ishimoto is a textile designer and ceramic artist who worked for 32 years as a textile designer for Marimekko, a highly popular Finnish lifestyle brand in Japan. While Ishimoto's vibrant, colorful and adorable floral reliefs are often featured, his ceramic works that evoke powerful and tranquil landscapes that seem to coexist with harsh nature are also attracting attention as symbolic expressions.
This exhibition will feature six new flower reliefs, three plates and ceramic tiles created in the 1990s, as well as a small piece titled "Mikan" (Tangerines), which was supervised by Ishimoto.
