To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Dior will be taking over the Isetan Shinjuku store from September 4th to 17th. Eight pop-up stores will be set up in the main building and men's section of the Isetan Shinjuku store, offering pre-sale items and limited-edition capsule collections.

Before the store opened on the first day, actress and model Yuko Araki visited the store. She talked about her favorite items and stories from her visit to the Dior couture show in July. Yuko Araki appeared wearing limited edition checkered items, including a bob hat, skirt, J'Adior pumps, and a friendship bracelet. "The key to this outfit is check. I love check so much that it's synonymous with fall and winter," she commented. "This season's Dior collection is inspired by the Teddy Girls of London in the 1950s, so I wanted to give it a try myself." For this pop-up, various areas of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, from the first to sixth floors, are decorated with Dior checkered patterns. Araki commented, "I was particularly impressed by the escalators," referring to the escalators, which are decorated with checkered graphics. A special space decorated with the graphic check pattern that appeared in Dior's 2019-20 Fall/Winter show will be set up on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building (The Stage). Bags, shoes, and accessories from the "Checkin Dior" line will be on display here. The "Travel Dior" luggage line, made from Dior Oblique canvas, will also be available for pre-sale following its launch at the Paris Champs-Élysées boutique. The store will also offer the "ABCDior" personalization service, which uses embroidery. Items such as the "Book Tote," "Walkin' Dior" sneakers, and the new denim "Saddle" bag can be personalized.

Small "Book Tote" (285,000 yen) Worldwide Limited Release



On the third floor of the main building, a limited capsule collection featuring tartan selected specially for this occasion by Women's Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri will be on display. The lineup includes the key item, the Book Tote, which will be released in a small size worldwide first, as well as special checked clothing that is linked to the Fall/Winter 2019-20 collection, accessories such as Mitzah scarves, stoles, hats, and friendship bracelets, and J'Adior pumps. The men's section will also feature a pop-up showcasing men's ready-to-wear and accessories by Kim Jones. The walls of the space will be decorated with the same "Toile de Jouy" print, a textile representative of 18th-century French décor, while the interior will feature a selection of ready-to-wear pieces in the same gray and black motif. In addition to the new gray Dior Oblique canvas Saddle bag, sneakers, and small leather goods, a limited edition version of the iconic Roller bag will also be available. Japan's first customization service for the B23 sneaker will also be available. Choose from four Dior Oblique models and add your own initials embroidered or shoelace tips engraved with "DIOR." A pop-up on the third floor of the Men's Building will feature items from the Winter 2019-2020 collection, created in collaboration with American contemporary artist Raymond Pettibon.

The Dior Maison home collection pop-up, which will be held on the 5th floor of the main building from September 7th, will feature dinner sets decorated with lily of the valley, cannage, and toile de jouy prints. The "Checkin Dior" collection, consisting of checked plates and teapots designed by Dior Maison Creative Director Cordelia de Castellane, will also be on display. The pop-up, which will be held inside the Baby Dior boutique on the 6th floor of the main building, will feature items accented with checked patterns from the 2020 Spring/Summer Baby Dior collection by Cordelia de Castellane, which will be sold exclusively in Japan.

"We" Earrings (YG x DIA) (199,000 yen)
From the fine jewelry department, Artistic Director Victor de Castellane will be showcasing sparkling jewelry pieces. In addition to a selection of items from the Maison's iconic "We" collection, rings and earrings decorated with words such as "Toi Moi" and "Je t'aime" will be available for pre-sale.

To match the red and black checked shopping bags created specially for the event, buses wrapped in the same motif will travel around the streets of Tokyo.
