[Tokyo Collection 2013 Spring/Summer] "WC" Shows a Real Vintage Feel

Dec 6, 2012

As sunflowers held up by the audience surrounded the runway, WC (Double C), designed by Chinatsu Wakatsuki, presented its Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The first look featured a denim top with lace puff sleeves and a cute, voluminous miniskirt featuring yellow lace and small floral prints, with a denim belt. As Wakatsuki openly describes her love of vintage clothing, the overall look exuded a vintage and country vibe. The short skirt exposed plenty of skin, which Wakatsuki said she "wanted to make her look delicate." The color palette featured bright spring/summer colors like yellow, pink, and white, set against a backdrop of distressed denim. The extensive use of lace and gathers added a romantic element. Wakatsuki said she was encouraged to present the show by Kaori Sasaki, editor-in-chief of Commons & Sense, who directed the show. Her friends, former Morning Musume members Takahashi Ai, Kinoshita Yukina, and Aoyama Thelma, also attended the event, creating a lively atmosphere despite it being her first time attending Tokyo Collection.
