Event Date:2019.08.07-08.12
Aug 6, 2019
Yokohama Takashimaya will be hosting "Takashimaya Ice Wonderland - A Festival of Cool Sweets," a carefully selected collection of popular authentic ice cream treats from around the country, from August 7th to 12th in the event space on the 8th floor.

Juhyo - Aiming to be the world's best shaved ice "Natsuotome 2019" (2,160 yen including tax)
This event, being held for the second time, will bring together popular authentic ice cream treats from around the country, including the popular shaved ice, parfaits, ice cream, soft serve ice cream, gelato, and more. You can enjoy approximately 160 types of ice cream treats from 28 stores across the country.

From Tochigi Prefecture, "Juhyo - Shaved Ice Aiming to Be the Best in the World," which has attracted the attention of shaved ice enthusiasts, will be making its first appearance outside the prefecture. From August 7th to 9th, Yokohama Takashimaya will be selling "Natsuotome 2019" (2,160 yen including tax), which uses "Natsuotome," a rare strawberry even in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture, a famous strawberry producing area. After receiving an order, the fruit is cut, the sauce is made, and the luxurious shaved ice is finished right in front of you, measuring an astonishing 30cm high.

Eddy's Ice Cream "Limited Eddy" (1,300 yen including tax)
"Eddy's Ice Cream," the Harajuku ice cream shop that has become a hot topic among Instagram fans, will also be making its first appearance at Yokohama Takashimaya. You can enjoy your own soft serve ice cream by topping it with around 12 different parts such as ribbons and lips. As a special offer this time, "Limited Eddy" (1,300 yen including tax) is being sold, topped with a cute bear cookie holding the letter "T," the initial letter of Takashimaya, with only 20 pieces available each day.

Sakano Ueno Cafe "Ichigo" (1,620 yen including tax)
To coincide with this event, the popular cafe "Sakano Ueno Cafe" will be selling "Ichigo" (1,620 yen including tax), an exquisitely fluffy shaved ice with rich strawberry syrup and a light espuma cream, exclusively at Yokohama Takashimaya from August 10th to 12th.

Asakusa Kagetsudo "Ice Melon Bread (Luxury Berry)" (601 yen including tax)
Also keep an eye out for hybrid sweets that combine "bread" and "ice cream sweets." Asakusa Kagetsudo, a long-established store popular for its jumbo melon bread, is making its first appearance at Yokohama Takashimaya with its hugely popular "Ice Melon Bread (Luxury Berry)" (601 yen including tax), a jumbo melon bread measuring approximately 15cm in diameter with ice cream sandwiched in between, selling 3,000 pieces a day.

"Waffle Bowl Ice Cream (Pistachio & Strawberry)" (820 yen each, tax included)

Popular local Yokohama shops will also be participating. Augusta Milk Farm, a gelato shop that uses milk from cows raised at Aizawa Ryo Farm in Seya Ward, Yokohama, which boasts a history of around 70 years, offers "Waffle Bowl Ice Cream (Pistachio & Strawberry)" (820 yen each, tax included), a menu item exclusive to Yokohama Takashimaya. Other exhibitors include "LeaLea Tea," a popular Harajuku shop specializing in Taiwanese tapioca milk tea and cheese cream tea; "Strawberry Mania," a strawberry sweets specialty store produced by "Tsukiji Soratsuki," a famous Japanese confectionery shop in Tsukiji, Tokyo; "Harajuku Denki Shokai," popular for its "Light Bulb Soda," a soda drink served in a light bulb-shaped container that has also become a hit in Korea, and animal-themed ice cream; "Roll Ice Cream Factory," a hugely popular Harajuku roll ice cream specialty store selling eye-catching roll ice cream, which is made from liquid right in front of your eyes on a cold plate at temperatures below -10°C; "Marugoto Kochi," an antenna shop for Kochi Prefecture; "Yokohama Bashamichi Ice," located on Yokohama Bashamichi, where ice cream is said to have been first sold in Japan in 1869, where you can taste ice cream that has been recreated with a modern twist to the flavors of the time; and "Ice Monster," popular for its new textured shaved ice that is hugely popular in Taiwan.

In addition to being able to eat freshly made iced sweets, this event also features a wide selection of sweets that are fun to photograph. Why not enjoy some cool, sweet treats at this midsummer food event that can be enjoyed by families, friends, or even by yourself?
