[LOOK] Dior presents its Fall/Winter 2023-2024 collection in Paris

Dior held its Fall/Winter 2023-24 collection show by Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri on February 28th at 11 PM (3 PM local time).

The Fall/Winter 2023-2024 collection was presented at the Tuileries Garden in Paris. For Maria Grazia Chiuri, each collection is a rare opportunity to reflect on the role that "clothing" plays in relation to the body and fashion.

In this reinterpretation of the 1950s, Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri explores Dior's history in a radically new way, further exploring French style by focusing on three remarkable women: Catherine Dior, Edith Piaf and Juliette Gréco.

The floral motif chosen by Monsieur Dior is reinterpreted, with metallic threads woven into the speckled fabric, bringing the material to life and giving it a supple appearance, while blurring its contours to create an abstract effect.

Primary colours of ruby, emerald, topaz yellow and blue take centre stage, delicate hues of tartan adorn coats, jackets and straight skirts, and tiny bursts of light appear on the embroidery. Celebrating a kaleidoscope of thoughtful femininity, portrayed by powerful icons, the creations illuminate the aspirations of a new generation of women who will shape our future. The venue was graced with "Valkyrie Miss Dior," a stage decoration created by Joana Vasconcelos exclusively for Dior. To Vasconcelos, Catherine Dior, sister of Monsieur Dior, was likened to the Valkyries, goddesses who served the chief god Odin in Norse mythology: powerful, courageous, and full of fighting spirit. Her monumental creation dominates the space like tentacles. The organic and free-form form, which gives the impression of being inescapable, begins with an "island" where visitors can sit, and is made up of fabric, lace, embroidery, crochet, etc.
