The Shimokitazawa Curry Championship 2019, a 12-day event featuring tastings of the finest curries from 40 restaurants in Shimokitazawa, the city of curry, will be held for 12 days from July 4th to 15th.



The Shimokitazawa Curry Festival, held annually since 2012 as an event where visitors can taste and compare a variety of unique curries, is one of Tokyo's most popular events, with over 500,000 participants to date. Many visitors have asked, "Which restaurant in Shimokitazawa is the best?"

So, for the first time, the Shimokitazawa Curry Championship 2019 will be held, where 40 restaurants will compete to determine the Shimokitazawa Curry King.

To participate, you need to purchase a 300 yen curry pass. By presenting the pass, you can eat a 500 yen entry curry at any store. You can vote for the curry you like best once every three meals, and the curry with the most votes will be crowned the champion.

Participating stores include Bar LOADED, Bullseye, Kumeys, ARKBOX, atelier?, yuzuki, RAINBOW kitchen Shimokitazawa, beer bar Ushitora Ichigoten, Tokachi Umaimono Bar TONOTO, International Dining Isshin, Buckingham Palace, ARENA Shimokitazawa, and Kazenori Merry.
