Zopf, a bakery in Matsudo, Chiba, will open its first Tokyo store, Zopf Curry Bread Specialty Store, inside Tokyo Station on July 10th.

While tucked away in a quiet residential area away from the station in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, Zopf has become known as a "holy land for bread lovers," attracting many visitors. They bake 300 types of bread every day, and their original curry bread is their most popular item, selling around 700 pieces a day.

The curry bread is made with a spicy curry filling made with plenty of beef, wrapped in a slightly sweet and chewy dough, then coated in coarse breadcrumbs and slowly fried until fragrant, making it so filling that even one is enough to satisfy. The newly opened "Tsuop Curry Bread Specialty Store" will specialize in the popular original curry bread and serve it fresh.
The store will be located inside Tokyo Station, where the "Tokyo Station North Passage Area Development Project" is currently underway and is scheduled for completion in 2020, and this store will open as a precursor to the project. When complete, it is planned to open as a new commercial area, with approximately 70 stores opening across an area of approximately 6,300 square meters.
