With daytime temperatures exceeding 25°C on an increasing number of summer days, it's time to change up your fragrance wardrobe. Many people are excitedly planning their Golden Week and summer vacations. We asked a stylist (salesperson) at the cosmetics and fragrance section on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building for recommendations on fragrances perfect for the upcoming vacation season that will help you fully enjoy the summer vibe. As expected, refreshing citrus scents are becoming increasingly popular as temperatures rise. Among these, the stylist particularly recommends three fragrances, including high-quality brands that use only natural ingredients and fragrances by Japanese perfumers. The first is Honore's Trip Eau de Toilette from Parfums Honore des Pres, created by female perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. The juicy scent of tangerine, orange, and lemon, accented with spices, creates a refreshing and liberating fragrance. It's recommended for those who like fruity scents.
Then there's "MEDITERRANEO" from CARTHUSIA, also blended using only natural fragrances. True to its name, it's a unisex fragrance with a refreshing lemon and tea leaf scent.
Next up is "LES NUITS D'IZU" from KEIKO MECHERI, part of the summer collection that evokes travel memories. True to its name, it's a light and clear scent like the summer skies of Izu. The fragrance is also unique, capturing the scents of yuzu, yamabuki flowers, lakeside moss, and cypress. It embodies the quintessential Japanese summer atmosphere.
There's also a knack for using summer fragrances. As more of your skin is exposed to the sun, it's best to spray a single pump of fragrance on warmer areas that aren't exposed to direct sunlight. If you apply it as low on your body as possible, such as behind your knees or on your waist, you can enjoy a soft fragrance every time you move.
You can also use the scent you used on your trip even after you return to your daily life, which will remind you of your time away. Why not refresh your mood with your favorite fragrance during the hot season?
