German fragrance brand Linari will release its new eau de parfum, "PORTA DEL CIELO" (100ml/26,250 yen), on Wednesday, February 27th, its first in about two and a half years.
The perfume was created by Mark Buxton, a German-British perfumer who has worked on fragrance collections for COMME des GARÇONS and Thorsten Biehl, and who also has his own eponymous brand.
"Porta del Cielo" means "door to the blue sky" in Italian. Based on a base of white musk, vanilla, and Venezuelan tonka bean, the fragrance opens with rich, fruity notes of Calabrian bergamot, pineapple, and raspberry, followed by gentle notes of sandalwood and cashmere wood, followed by floral notes of lily of the valley, violet, and Tunisian orange, and finally a scent of Siamese benzoin resin and Andalusian rabdanum.
The bottle was designed by German-born designer Rainer Diersche. The French glass bottle is shaped like a thick cylinder, featuring 22-karat gold and a modern design with a wave pattern. The African Wedgwood cap can also be used as a stand for the bottle.
Linari is a fragrance brand founded by Diersche in 2003. The brand name is derived from the Tuscan town of "Linari." The brand is famous for its room fragrances that combine high-quality scents with modern, sophisticated designs, and is sold at ESTNATION, The Conran Shop, BALS TOKYO, Isetan Shinjuku, and other stores.
