Popular French brand Carven has released a new fragrance, "Le Parfum." It will be released worldwide first at the Parisian select shop Colette, and is scheduled for release in Japan in early summer. Bluebell Japan Co., Ltd. will handle the Japanese launch. The perfumer is Francis Kurkdjian, renowned as a young star in the fragrance world. The refreshing scent features mandarin flower, white hyacinth, and sweet pea. At the same time, Carven's signature fragrance, "MA GRIFFE," launched in 1947 and beloved by Grace Kelly, has also been redesigned with new packaging. Artistic director Guillaume Henry is responsible for all creative direction for both fragrances, including packaging and promotion. Carven is an haute couture brand founded by Madame Carven in 1945. Starting with the Spring/Summer 2010 season, the brand transformed into a ready-to-wear brand with the arrival of Guillaume, who had gained experience under Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy, among others. The new Carven collections, which combine the sophisticated couture techniques cultivated over many years at the house with the young, modern sensibility of Guillaume, born in 1978, have been highly praised and attract attention every season. The Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week, was inspired by the image of a woman who combines fierceness and femininity, like Beatrice Dalle.
