May 10, 2019
Kurokawa Akito, also known as Kuro-chan of Yasuda Circus, has been chosen as the model for Hiroshima Parco's 25th anniversary campaign visuals and movie.

Hiroshima Parco opened on April 9, 1994, and is now celebrating its 25th anniversary. To celebrate and express their gratitude, the company has launched a 25th anniversary campaign. Kuro-chan, a Hiroshima native, has been selected as the campaign icon. Visuals will be displayed inside and outside Hiroshima Parco, and movies including TV commercials will also be aired. In advance of the campaign, a large banner featuring Kuro-chan will be displayed in Hondori Shopping Arcade, Hiroshima's main street, from May 10th (until July 5th).

The ad copy is, "Love PARCO? So can we kiss?" To mark the 25th anniversary, Kuro-chan once again asks, "Do you love PARCO?" and "How much do you love PARCO (enough to kiss it)?" Kuro-chan speaks for Hiroshima PARCO, expressing their desire to continue being a store that makes people think, "I love PARCO! I love it so much I want to kiss it!"

From May 24th to June 2nd, Hiroshima PARCO will be holding a "25th Anniversary Thanksgiving PARTY SALE." Various events and pop-up shops will be held. Kuro-chan will also be visiting the store on May 24th for a talk event.

Parco has also released a 15-second video in which they prank Kuro-chan. In the video released on Parco's official YouTube channel, you can see what happens after the reveal, which is a continuation of the 15-second video. Be sure to check it out.

In addition, Kuro-chan, who is a certified aroma coordinator, will be giving away a room fragrance spray with a soothing blend, limited to 250 units, only on May 31st. Check the Hiroshima Parco official website for more details.
