Onitsuka Tiger held an event in Tokyo on April 15th to announce its new 2019-20 Fall/Winter collection.

The theme of the 2019-20 Fall/Winter collection was "Downtown Rave." Inspired by Berlin's club culture, a leading fashion scene, and the free-spirited youth of the '90s, the collection offered styles emblematic of the underground club scene, including athletic wear, urban snowboarding styles, and items featuring powerful slogans in prints and patches. Outside the event venue, models clad in these new collections lined up along the wall. A performance depicting the everyday life of a clubhouse, a youth utopia, built anticipation for the special night ahead.

The event was produced by NION's Takayuki Moriya, and the spatial design of the venue, which took up the first and second floors of the building, was handled by YAR, led by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN.
The first floor, with its exposed pipes, rusted electrical panels, and CRT TVs, exudes a German industrial atmosphere, highlighting a new side to Onitsuka Tiger's worldview for this season.
In the center of the floor stands a towering pillar-shaped object with belts wrapped around it, representing the new items for this season. In contrast to the images of freedom and liberation associated with rave culture, this deliberately restrictive approach seemed to represent the dilemma between ideals and reality faced by today's young people.

The second floor was a smoky party floor, with orange lasers flying around, this season's key color. The DJ player who livened up the venue was GONNO, who also performed at London's Boiler Room and provided a remix for Jeff Mills, and who is currently in constant demand from all over the world. Guests included models such as Fukushi Rina, Ehara Miki, Nakata Minori, and Hashizume Ai, millennial fashion icons such as AMIAYA, the much talked about Japanese first virtual model imma, and other industry insiders, totaling approximately 400 people.
