Leo Lionni, famous for his works "Swimmy" and "Frederick," will be collaborating with the cafe to open for a limited time at Ginza Marronnier Gate!

A concept cafe by world-famous picture book author Leo Lionni will be open for a limited time from April 3rd to July 31st at Sunday Brunch, a cafe located in Marronnier Gate Ginza 1 in Ginza, Tokyo.


This concept cafe will be held in advance of an exhibition of Leo Lionni's original illustrations to be held in Tokyo this summer.

Leo Lionni is the picture book author known for works such as "Swimmy" and "Frederick," which everyone has likely seen at least once. This will be the world's first collaboration between him and a cafe.

The venue, cafe Sunday Brunch, has previously had successful collaborations with "Shaun the Sheep" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," and is known as a "delicious collaboration cafe." This time, a total of 13 original menu items will be available, including a dish inspired by the scene in "Frederick" where the main character gathers colors in a warm light, and a dish inspired by a famous scene from "Swimmy." Some of the dishes are introduced below.



"Swimmy Plate" 2,600 yenA bread salad with large pieces of fish to eat.
Beneath the fish bread lies a tuna rillette with cream cheese, Ginza honey, tomato sauce, and


"Frederick's Color Gathering" 1,580 yenFrederick is made with multigrain rice blended with black rice and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, and is topped with bacon and onion carbonara sauce and tomato puree for a warm glow.
This dish depicts Frederick gathering colors in the warm light, topped with beets, matcha, and pumpkin cream sauce.


"Cornelius's Tail" 1,780 yenA menu inspired by Cornelius being taught by a monkey to hang from a tree.
Indian spinach curry and tandoori chicken, which are closely related to the production of Leo Lionni's picture books, are meant to represent the river where Cornelius lives.


"Hey Frederick, what are you doing?" 1,250 yen (drink set price)Cheesecake topped with white chocolate ganache and seasonal berries. The rich cream and tart berries are a perfect match!
While his fellow mice are preparing for winter, where is Frederick...?


"Cornelius Walks Out" 1,200 yen (price with drink set)A matcha and chocolate gateau au chocolat accented with rich ganache and nut crumble, adorned with the charming Cornelius.
The design represents Cornelius, who started walking shortly after he was born and is full of curiosity about everything.


"Leo Lionni Cafe Kids Plate" 1,000 yen (drink set price)Short pasta with tuna and tomato sauce topped with a Swimmy cookie, and a muffin topped with Frederick.
A kids' menu that allows children, parents, and everyone to enjoy the world of Leo Lionni while dining.
