Hobonichi will be holding "The Joys of Life" exhibition, a shopping festival-like event created in collaboration with various companies and brands, in Marunouchi, Tokyo from April 17th to 21st.

"The Joys of Life" exhibition began in Roppongi in 2017 and has been held in Ebisu and Umeda, changing its scale and location over the years. This year marks the fourth time the exhibition has been held, and it will be held at a large-scale venue using three areas of Marunouchi, the gateway to Tokyo, with the theme of "Tokyo and the World."

The venue is roughly divided into three areas: "Maru Building," which is a space lined with art and a variety of shops, both large and small, selling items collected from all over the world; "Marunouchi Nakadori," which is lined with delicious and colorful shops such as food trucks, American school buses, and parasol wagons; and "TOKIA Galleria," which is lined with "Tokyo"-themed shops stretching for about 60 meters. A total of 60 stores will be participating. Of the 60 stores, 32 will be opening for the first time, offering an even greater variety than ever before.

House of Lotus, where model Karen Kirishima serves as creative director, will be exhibiting for the first time, and will be selling colorful plastic baskets from Vietnam prepared for the event, as well as gingham dresses and shirts made from Indian cotton. The grey and green gingham dresses and shirts are only available for a limited time.

Also opening for the first time is the "Niwaka Rugby Fan's Shop," a rugby shop opened in collaboration with Hobonichi and the "Marunouchi 15th Street Project," an event held in the Marunouchi area by Mitsubishi Estate, an official sponsor of the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, where visitors can experience the appeal of rugby. Items on sale include original T-shirts with tin badges and rugby-themed Japanese sweets jointly developed with Toraya. There will also be a corner where visitors can experience the thrill of rugby players, making this a welcoming space where even "casual fans" can fully enjoy the appeal of rugby.

Other stores opening include "HARIBO Whole Gummy Store," which sells gummy candies from Haribo, a company founded in Germany in 1920, and "You Good, I Good," a store by Yuka Aoki, who is well-known for her "Taiwanese Window" column in the Hobonichi Daily magazine. The store will be packed with "unmistakable" Taiwanese goods selected by Yuka Aoki.

There will also be many shops focusing on the beautiful things of Tokyo and Japan, such as "Unique Accessories. Little Jewelry Party!", which brings together unique jewelry brands and artists, "Edo Katae Tenugui Shop Ogura Dyeing Design Studio Ogura Mitsuko", which depicts the customs of Edo using stencil dyeing techniques, and "weeksdays", the hugely popular online shop by stylist Ito Masako and Hobonichi, which has collaborated with linen item retailer fog linen work to sell new products in advance as "weeksdays+fog linen work".

Among the food trucks appearing on Marunouchi Nakadori Street are the "Stick Steak Shop" run by Mardi Gras, a famous French restaurant in Ginza; the "Aibo Lamb Dumplings Mobile Kitchen" where you can taste lamb and onion dumplings from Aibo, a popular restaurant in Kanda; "Beaver Bread Beaver Campagne Sold by Weight" by BeaverBread, a bakery that has been attracting attention since it opened; and the Vietnamese "Banh Mi and Bobun Shop" proposed by Stand Bánh Mì in Gakugei University. Additionally, the ever-popular "Tanoshimi Bento" lunch box, which is only available at the Joys of Life exhibition, will include two varieties of chioben and a collaboration bento box with Saikichi Shoten & BumbooCut.
"Earth Ball Cafe produced by amana (IMA cafe) + HOBONICHI", which will open at Marunouchi Cafe ✕ WIRED CAFE on the first floor of Maru Building, will also be selling "Curry no Ongaeshi Curry", which is scheduled to go on sale in May, as well as offering original menu items for this event, such as cheesecake based on a recipe by Nakashima Shiho and amana's (IMA cafe) special Earth Blend coffee.
