On February 27th, Alain Wertheimer, Global CEO of CHANEL, officially announced the new artistic directors. Virginie Viard will be artistic director of fashion collections, overseeing the haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories departments, while Eric Pfrunder will be artistic director of fashion image.

Virginie Viard has worked closely with Karl Lagerfeld for over 30 years, and is his right-hand woman. CEO Alain Wertheimer issued a statement saying, "I am confident that this team, which has worked with Karl Lagerfeld for over 30 years, and the entire Fashion team led by Global Fashion President Bruno Pavlovsky, will further develop the creativity and vitality of Chanel fashion in the future."
