RICK OWENS presented his Fall/Winter 2019-20 men's collection in Paris on January 16th.

This collection paid homage to Larry LeGaspi, the cult fashion designer who designed costumes for KISS, Patti LaBelle, Divine, and Grace Jones, whose photo book will be released this October. This figure, which could be considered Rick's roots and was heavily influenced by the '70s New York underground scene, served as a closing statement for the 2010s and a summary of the decade.
The collection started with Rick's favorite thick laser spotlight and heavy bass strings, and was organized with 10cm platform boots, maxi baggy pants, maxi bags, glamorous long coats made of down, quilting, and mouton with various shoulders, all clearly positioned at the chest. White-faced models, spacey snowboard sunglasses, biker pants, collarless kimono jackets, etc., are a crossover between disco, acid, and sports.

Models walking into the backlight showed a thoughtful color palette based mainly on black and gray, with red, brown, and pink, as well as collaborative items such as vegan sneakers, giving a sense of how the brand has changed over the years to become more pop, rather than being radical in its forms.
