Fendi Casa opens its first US flagship store in the heart of Miami's Design District

Dec 15, 2022
FENDI Casa has opened its first US flagship store, the FENDI Casa Miami Store (Address: 4120 NE 2nd Avenue), in the heart of Miami's Design District, a creative and avant-garde area where fashion and design converge.

The store opened to coincide with the holding of DesignMiami, a design fair that brings together art collectors, gallery owners, designers, curators, and critics from around the world. FENDI, the luxury brand from Rome, Italy, has presented special projects at Design Miami over the years, working with talented emerging designers such as Chiara Andreatti, Cristina Celestino, Dimorestudio, Formafantasma and Peter Mabeo, some of which have been reissued and are part of the new FENDI CASA collection.

The opening of this store marks the second stage of Fendi's roadmap for strategic expansion through its joint venture, Fashion Furniture Design (FF Design), which it launched with Design Holding in 2021. Following the opening of its first flagship store in Piazza della Scala in Milan in April 2022, Fendi has been strengthening its presence with the opening of its first directly operated store in Asia in Shanghai in February 2023.

The Fendi Casa Miami store covers an area of 590 square meters and features a minimalist black and white façade. Large windows create a dialogue between the interior and exterior. The interior concept, developed by Fendi's architecture department, aims to create an aesthetic connection with all Fendi and Fendi Casa stores around the world. The two-floor space features a contemporary interpretation of the Rome-based house's most iconic codes, with the "FF" logo appearing in a sophisticated pattern on the walls and in relief on the ceiling. Luxurious surfaces—brushed steel, champagne-colored metal, arabescato marble, and concrete—are arranged to highlight each piece from the collection. An LED lighting system by Flos creates a vibrant atmosphere through the play of light and shadow.

The store's exclusive Materioteca space offers an immersive experience where customers, architects and interior designers can try out all the materials and finishes from the Fendi Casa collection, offering services that enable personal customisation and bespoke designs. Of course, the absolute centerpiece of the space are the furnishings created by international designers under the direction of Artistic Director Silvia Venturini Fendi. From Piero Lissoni's "Ohe" outdoor seating system to Marcel Wanders' "Auroch" and the steel and crystal "Matrice" bookcase designed by Miradimore Studio, each piece draws on the heritage of savoir-faire, tradition and attention to detail that are part of Fendi's DNA, reinterpreting them with a deeply contemporary spirit while embracing the values of authenticity and exclusivity that remain the Maison's hallmarks.

The store will also showcase work by Vienna-based artist Lukas Gschwandtner, who was invited by Fendi to this year's Design Miami. He has proposed a chaise longue arranged like a triclinium, a repetition of his case study series, "Pillow Portraits." The chaise longue will be installed in the main window of Fendi Casa Miami, solidifying the connection between Fendi and Fendi Casa.
