Japan's largest soba and sake event, "Oedo Wa-en 2018: Soba and Sake Expo," is being held from November 29th to December 2nd at the Yoyogi Park Event Square in Tokyo. Bringing together exquisite soba and sake dishes from soba and sake restaurants across Japan, the event attracted approximately 140,000 visitors last year. This year, three soba restaurants—one of Japan's top three—will be exhibiting for the first time: "Wankosoba" from Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, where a bite-sized portion of soba noodles is served in a bowl and eaten in unison with a call; "Shinshu Soba" from Nagano Prefecture, which is carefully grown in an environment ideal for buckwheat cultivation and is known for its sweetness and flavor; and "Izumo Soba" from Shimane Prefecture, where the kernels are milled whole with the shell still attached, resulting in a dark color and a strong fragrance.

In addition, approximately 12 soba restaurants from all over the country will be participating. Artisans will be showcasing their carefully selected ingredients and expert skills right before your eyes.
In addition, approximately 100 types of sake from all over Japan will be on offer, including sake from breweries that have won top prizes at France's largest competitions, as well as rare brands that are difficult to obtain.
