Hender Scheme has announced its 2019 Spring/Summer collection, "NEW CRAFT." The collection will be available at its directly managed store, SKIMA, and participating retailers nationwide from December 1st.

The title of the 2019 Spring/Summer collection, "NEW CRAFT," embodies the brand's vision. Hender Scheme believes that new craft is the "sense of unseen" that can be felt by rethinking craft practices and realizing them through innovative materials and tailoring. The collection features "NEW CRAFT" items born from a contemporary approach to crafting existing leather shoes and accessories.
"Skirt" (58,000 yen)
The shoes include the "Skirt" (58,000 yen), which deliberately exposes the upper's hanging tab, which is usually hidden under the sole, as a design element, and features playful details such as the layers of upper and lining leather and the cut hem, as well as the versatile "Tarp" (62,000 yen), which combines fully waterproof three-layer nylon with smooth leather and a tank sole. These leather shoes have redefined the concept of craft and incorporated new ideas, such as incorporating a cut that widens the sole like a sneaker.
The "hand mesh mule" (42,000 yen), made from vegetable-tanned goat leather woven in India and scheduled for release in early spring, is polished with glazing and features a mesh upper and full leather sole, making it a supple and highly breathable pair of shoes.
"mip-20" (64,000 yen)
The new "mip-20" (64,000 yen) from "manual industrial products" (commonly known as the homage line) is a leather shoe with a complex construction, even compared to previous collections, featuring cuts in the leather and decorations that have been given a mesh-like shape by water, as well as patent leather. The design, made with technology and high-tech materials, is deliberately created using analog methods, making it a model befitting an homage collection.
The "typical color exception" collection aims to bring out the memories and information that colors convey by overlaying existing color scheme images (typical colors) onto classic, staple leather shoe designs, and incorporates the color scheme of each country into classic loafers (54,000 yen) and Gibsons (53,000 yen) based on the theme of "national colors."
"Half Folded Wallet" (32,000 yen)
New bags include the "Multi Helmet Bag" (36,000 yen), a 2-way helmet bag with detachable zippered pockets, and a bag featuring a wide shoulder strap that incorporates wax and develops a glossy finish with use. Additionally, the new leather wallets, the "Half Folded Wallet" (32,000 yen) and "L Purse" (16,000 yen), are made from vegetable-tanned cowhide leather that has been treated with wax. The edges have a clear finish, revealing the cross-section that is usually hidden, highlighting the careful craftsmanship evident in the multiple layers of leather.
Other items include the "not rugby shirts" (88,000 yen), a large-sized pullover made from pigskin suede, which is known for its lightness, a USB (5,000 yen), a hang wallet, and a new color, "red", in the classic series of leather accessories that are rich in wax.
