Japan's first luxury members-only discotheque returns for one night only at Hotel Okura Tokyo

May 23, 2015

On July 23rd, Hotel Okura Tokyo will host the event "Castel Discotheque @Hotel Okura Tokyo - Recreating the 70's French Club Scene." Castel Tokyo, Japan's first luxury members-only discotheque, will make a one-night comeback.

Hotel Okura Tokyo will begin rebuilding its main building this September, with a new renovation planned for Spring 2019. This event is part of the "This is Okura 300 Days Project," a commemorative project launched in October last year, 300 days before the start of the main building reconstruction work.
Castel Tokyo, Japan's first luxury members-only discotheque, which opened in Roppongi in 1974, will make a one-night comeback at Hotel Okura Tokyo. The event will be produced by Daiji Okada, who was responsible for the operation and production of Castel Tokyo at the time. Additionally, Harumi Fujimoto, who designed, directed, and produced the lighting for Japan's first discotheques, MUGEN and BYBLOS, will be in charge of the spatial lighting. Producer Tachikawa Naoki was brought in to oversee the overall production.

DJs include FUKU-CHANG, ZEEBRA, and L. An all-star staff will recreate the French club scene of the 70s. Reservations will open at 10am on May 20th.
