One-of-a-kind Ferrari Tailor Made unveils collection in Tokyo

Oct 31, 2018
On October 22, Ferrari Japan held a special event for Ferrari Tailor Made, "The Art of Ferrari Tailor Made," at the Italian Embassy. The event also served as a promotion for the new styling center completed in Maranello, Italy, in September, and the new tailoring capabilities at its Shanghai branch. Nine Ferrari GTC4Lusso T cars, specially produced for Japan, were exhibited in the embassy gardens and official residence. Located in a building representative of Italian design, the event showcased Ferrari's tradition, innovation, and aesthetics to the press, creators, artists, and Ferrari owners. Enrico Galliera, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of Ferrari S.p.A., also visited Japan and participated in a talk show with actor Yusuke Iseya, who also rides custom motorcycles, and Andrea Bassi, head of Ferrari personalization.

The newly announced Tailor Made program offers three collections closely linked to Ferrari's DNA: "Scuderia," which expresses the sporting spirit; "Classica," which inherits tradition; and "Inedita," which actively embraces new trends and offers the greatest degree of freedom in experimental and innovative design. Customers can choose from these three collections for their customization, tailoring their car to their individual tastes and achieving exclusivity.

The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T, the base for the nine Tailor Made models produced exclusively for Japan, is priced from approximately 29 million yen. We will introduce these nine cars in order.

#1 - Italian Style 1 Concept

The piano black Dreamline finish accentuates the elegance of Ferrari's first four-seater V8. The interior is inspired by the Poltrona Frau Kennedy armchair by Jean-Marie Massaud, and incorporates traditional craftsmanship.

#2 - Country Concept

As the name suggests, the design theme is the harmony of the countryside, people, and nature. Revisiting the traditions of saddlery (saddlery manufacturing), the seats feature a harmonious color scheme between the velvet in the center and the furnishing leather.

#3 - Inspired by 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso

Inspired by the masterpiece unveiled at the 1962 Paris Motor Show, this rich chrome finish exudes elegance with a modern twist on the silver Dreamline and heritage leather seats.

#4 - Inspired by 250 GT Coupe Speciale

This model incorporates the characteristics of the Speciale, which was converted to a 250 GT chassis by Pininfarina. It features a blue metallic (Azzurro metallizzato) exterior and a cream and blue leather interior.

#5 - Italian Style 2 Concept

Inspired by the Poltrona Frau system sofa "Gran Torino" designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, this collection offers the sophisticated and complex manufacturing process required for tailor-made products, using precious leather materials.

#6 - Polo Concept

This model incorporates the nobility of the sport of polo into its design. Asymmetrical uniform graphics are used on the exterior and interior.

#7 - Yacht Concept

This tailor-made design is inspired by the world of luxury yachts. The subdued matte blue exterior and the combination of materials and stitching evoke a chic and bright atmosphere reminiscent of being on board a yacht.

#8 - Golf Concept

The black and red Dreamline exterior features a red dashboard insert. This TaylorMade design is inspired by golf concepts such as precision, focus, innovative materials, and connection with nature.

#9 - Copper Concept

TaylorMade is inspired by luxury watches, crafted with precision, material research, and cutting-edge processing technology. The deep blue finish and copper-colored 20-inch wheels, along with the interior in the same blue and copper colors, make for a striking presence.
