An event gathering teas from around the world, from Japanese tea and black tea to Chinese tea and herbal tea, will be held in Aoyama

Event Date:2018.11.10-11.11
Oct 29, 2018
The third edition of "Tea for Peace," an event bringing together teas from Japan and around the world, will be held on November 10th and 11th at the United Nations University courtyard in Aoyama.

The event, which first took place in March of this year, offers a wide range of ways to enjoy tea, from Japanese tea to black tea, Chinese tea, herbal tea, and spices. This diverse tea festival was born from the hope that the time and richness that comes from escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life will never be forgotten, and that it will continue to spread.

The popular "Tasting Cup" (¥1,000), an original tasting cup that allows you to freely compare teas from Japan and around the world, will be reintroduced in a revised version. The thin porcelain teacups selected in Taiwan have a delicate mouthfeel that does not interfere with the flavor.

We will also be holding a project to enjoy pairing bread with tea. Two elements in our daily lives that we have strangely never encountered before - bread and tea - will bring you a pleasant surprise. Five breads from "bricolage bread&co." will be paired with five types of tea from "The Tea Company" under the guidance of a tea brewer and baker. Reservations are required and can be made via the dedicated page (https://bricolage-teacompany.peatix.com/).

In the Tea Room inside the venue, workshops and tea ceremonies will be held to suggest ways to enjoy tea.Three tea brewers will each guide you through how to enjoy tea, from Japanese tea, Chinese tea, black tea, to herbal tea, and more, allowing you to find your favorite tea and way to drink it.

Other workshops include "Tea Room" by Inoue Saryo (https://tearoom-inouesaryo.peatix.com/), "Mountain Tea Ceremony" by Ideno Naoko of Chanowa (https://chanowa.peatix.com/), "First Time Tea Dyeing" by Yanagihara Yumiko (https://tea-dye.peatix.com/), "Korean Herbal Tea Course" by Teatherapy (https://tea-therapy.peatix.com/), and "Fresh Herb Tea Time" by Versau (https://harbtea.peatix.com/).
